THE REHEARSAL DINNER AT CELESTE

When looking for a rehearsal dinner spot in Chicago, we initially wanted an outdoor venue. We looked at places along the river and lake, but weren't impressed with the venues (and were worried about possible rain).

Celeste is one of the first places in River North that Drew and I went out to for a friend's birthday, so when that came up as an option, we were super excited. It had the outdoor feel we were looking for, with a classy vibe.

Since the price was reasonable compared to a lot of other top restaurants (cough, cough, Gibson's Italia), we locked in the venue.

When it came time to set the menu, there was no set tasting. So we visited on a weekday for

dinner and let them know we were going to have our rehearsal dinner there and they were so accommodating. The manager even stopped by with complementary drinks and gave us his cards.

The room was decorated beautifully with two long tables. Once everyone grabbed a drink, dinner was served family style. Then we went downstairs to Disco while they removed the tables for a cocktail style set up. We headed back up with plenty of time for an open mic with our friends and family sharing memories and stories about Drew and I.

The only negative feedback I would have is that (1) the waitresses weren't dresses super appropriately. There was a lot of cleavage for being a server at a classy event. The other complaint is that (2) the event coordinator didn't keep the program rolling with the timeline we had set, so I found myself having to keep track of time and tell her that dinner should be served now or that we should head downstairs so the room could be flipped. At your own event, you'd rather just enjoy it instead of having to worry about logistics.

Other than that, the evening was so memorable and I loved having the dinner at Celeste. Below are a few pictures from the rehearsal and the dinner.
