Rotorua, New Zealand

One of the more adventurous activities we did in Rotorua, New Zealand was ziplining through the Daintree Rainforest with Rotorua Canopy Tours. It was a little chilly up there, but as long as you bundle up, you'll be perfect with a combo of the the gear provided (jacket, harness, hat, helmet, gloves) and adrenaline. We suited up onsite and a bus took us up to the area we would be exploring. After a short safety demonstration, we were off, lunging from tree to tree!

At times you don't realize how high you are, given all the leaves and branches below you, but there are definitely times when you realize how massive the trees are. I loved that the Kiwi guides encouraged you to use your phones and take photos - even while ziplining! I feel like most companies are always trying to make money off of photos and videos. During the longest line is when you'll definitely want to pull your phone out (if you have a good grip!). The view is spectacular, as you can see deep into the forest and everything is so lush and green. The last line was my favorite, when they told us we could flip upside down. Harder than you might think to stay in that position, but being the first one to go, I had to try it! It was a thrill for sure, but I never felt unsafe. The guides know exactly what they're doing and the gear is constantly being checked. If you're looking for a fun, yet safe thrill, you have to try out this excursion!
